Julian Bendinger

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, I have always been a very active creature. When I learned to walk at just 9 months old, my mum was in big trouble. She coped with this hyperactive kid by letting me run and jump around until I ran out of energy, despite the disapproval of all the other worried mums. It was the only way she would be able to get some sleep at night.

I guess moving my body has always been not just natural, but a need for me. That is why my successful career in data analytics was short-lived. After working for a US startup for 3 years and sitting in front of a screen at home all day, I decided I needed to do a 180. I swapped the home-office for skiing and having fun with people every day. And I am happy and proud to share that I have not regretted my decision ever since.

After teaching in all continents (except Africa and Antarctica) and having shared memorable moments with hundreds of people, I am now lucky enough to be working in Zermatt, a Mecca for skiers all around the world. Come and join me on this great adventure!

In the summer

I am looking to combine ski instructing with my other career, Data Analytics, which is quite good for maintaining a healthy economy. I have worked for my former company between seasons, and I might do so again next summer. I have also done back-to- back seasons in New Zealand and Argentina.

My Zermatt insider tip is:

Coming myself from a big city, I recommend you close your eyes, take a deep breath, and rejoice as the pure mountain air fills and cleanses your lungs. You only live once and there’s few places to feel as alive as you do in Zermatt.

If I wasn't a Summit instructor:

To be honest, I would try to find a way to live in the mountains and ski as much as I can. At the moment, I’d say working remotely as a data analyst might do the trick.

3 reasons to ski with me:

1. I really love what I do! Being out in the mountains helping others become better, overcome their difficulties and achieve their goals is the reason I quit my “safe” job in data. I hope I’ll make you love skiing as much as I do.

2. Having graduated in translation, I can say I’m a great communicator. I can convey my knowledge clearly and simply. In addition, I know how to listen and interpret your needs. I believe good communication is a two-way street.

3. I’m a bottomless pit of patience. Test me, my patience knows no limits!
