Carla Silvain Bayol

Hi, I’m Carla, originally from France. After skiing in New Zealand, Japan and the Alps, I’m now settling down in Zermatt.

I learned to ski as an adult, so I truly understand what it feels like to start later. The nerves, the doubts, and the challenge of gaining control. I’ll share the tips that helped me become a stronger and more confident skier.

Whether you want to follow your kids, build confidence, explore the mountain or push your limits, I’ll be your friend coach, guide, and the big sister your children adore.

In the summer

Summer in the mountains is really special! Camping, swimming in cold lakes after hiking, climbing, paragliding. But… always talking about skiing.

My Zermatt insider tip is:

Wake up a bit earlier than everyone else, go outside, take a deep breath and look at the Matterhorn before the rush starts. There is no other place like it in the world.

If I wasn't a Summit instructor:

I would probably work in marketing or human resources in a ski school or ski resort.
As long as I’m surrounded by mountains, I’m happy.

3 reasons to ski with me:

1. I’m here for you. First day on skis? Coming back from injury? Nervous after a long break? I support you, reassure you, encourage you, and give you a small push when you need it the most. A clean stop, a small turn, a smile on your face? I notice the little things and I’ll be your biggest cheerleader.

2. I’ll try to make you smile anytime, even on stormy days. I always try to keep things positives and guess what? I’ve noticed it’s contagious 🙂

3. Learning to ski is not only about technique, it’s about overcoming fears, managing emotions, and building confidence. We work on the mental strength as much as the physical one. And yes… sometimes it’s also listening what’s happening between your ears.
