Cedric Mealin

I was lucky enough to grow up near the mountains. At the age of 4 my parents put me on skis, as a teenager I wanted to become one of the cool kids and decided to start Snowboarding. Whether on land, snow, or water, I enjoy riding anything, but I prefer two legs on the same plank !

I have spent most of my adult life living and travelling around the world. It is only recently that I decided to combine passion, travel, and work through the instruction of sports.

My Zermatt insider tip is:

I like to start my days off with a speedrun from the Sunnegga area to the Furi gondola:

  • Take the train to Sunnegga then the gondola to Blauherd while finishing your breakfast and tightening your boots.
  • Warm up on an empty Tuftern (9), take the gondola Tuftern-Rothorn (less waiting time compared to Blauherd-Rothorn).
  • Make a nice straight line to Gant (19), take the Gant-Hohtalli gondola.
  • Now it is time to shoot to Furi for a 1420m elevation drop (44,35,41,42 all red and without taking a break please).
  • Enjoy the ride to the Mattherhorn glacier paradise, the highest ski piste in Europe !
If I wasn't a Summit instructor:

I would probably teach Snowkite or Kiteboarding somewhere in the Caribbean. If I was not allowed to work, then I would go on a wild bikepacking adventure in the Southern Hemisphere.

3 reasons to ski with me:

1. I am more patient than a Buddhist monk.

2. Your success is my priority and brings me joy. Being outdoors is my other priority.

3. I am fun yet professional. I will do my best to adapt to my students and their needs.
